54321 Grounding

Grounding techniques are really useful when you’re feeling a little bit overwhelmed, and this one in particular can be used to prevent mental overload, it uses all your senses to help you move from your head back into the physical world…

Get comfortable, close tour eyes, take a breath or two…
Now open you eyes and find:
5 things you can see (name them out loud)
4 things you can feel (name them)
3 things you can hear (name them)
2 things you can smell (make them nice ones!)
1 thing you can taste

And take another breath to end – you should feel a little more relaxed… and grounded.
